Process Steps

Step 1 The importer collects the import inspection request application form from the agency or downloads it.
Step 2 The importer then fills in the application form and submits it with the relevant supporting documents.
Step 3  The application is then reviewed.
Step 4 If the application is approved then a quotation is provided to the importer, who then proceeds to make the necessary payments.
Step 5 An inspection is then carried out. If the product is not conformant, the applicant takes corrective action; If the product is conformant, a certificate of conformance is issued.
Step 6 The importer then proceeds to collect application for an annual import quality certificate or/and pre-import quality certificate application form.
Step 7 The importer then fills in the application form and submits it with the relevant supporting documents.
Step 8 ZCSA receives the application and reviews it. If the application is approved,  the importer can proceed to make the necessary payments.
Step 9 Once proof of payment is received by ZCSA, a permit is issued and the decision Is communicated to Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
