The Customs and Exci.se (Provisional Safeguard Measures) Order, 2015

IN EXERCISE of the powers contained in section eighty B of the Customs and Excise Act, the following Order is made:
1. (I) This Order may be cited as the Customs and Excise (Provisional Safeguard Measures) Order, 201 5.
(2) This Order shall remain in operation for one hundred and eighty days from the date of its publication in the Gazelle.
2. In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires—

"COMESA" means the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa;
"protected goods'' means goods in respect of which provisional safeguard measures are imposed; and
"'SADC" means the Southern African Development Community.

3. (1) The importation into Zambia of the goods listed in the Schedule is subject to customs duly of 15% when imported from COMESA and SADC member States implementing the free trade area and 25% when imported from any other State or territory.
(2) Notwithstanding subparagraph (1), goods with HS Code 7210 imported from any other Stale or territory shall be subjected to customs duty of 30%.
